CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Site editors have access to an on-line word processing type of interface.  In the web form that they use to update the page, the text box is headed by a toolbar like this:

The editor can use these to create text in different fonts, colours, sized, bold, underlined etc.  They can also create hyperlinks and upload images which are positioned on the page using the mouse.

Where a hypertext link is required to another page within the site, then we have a special type of hypertext link which will allow registration or compliance requirements to be satisfied.

As well as typing within this box, users can cut and paste formatted text from another application (such as Word for Windows) and the formatting will be retained.  There are obviously some restrictions here which are imposed by the technology.  For example fonts set up in Word tend to over-ride the standard site font, so we sometimes need to be careful with the type of document we use.

Site editors must have Internet Explorer 5.5 or better to use this feature.  There is no restriction on the site visitor..
